The History of Shag...
Partners of Paris Commune, Hugo Uys and Mayo Roe, have teamed up with Jeff Phillips, previously of Po Restaurant, to bring the West Village a little more charm and a smile – SHAG Bar and Restaurant.

White shag carpet lines three walls of the space with white vinyl banquets, white Lucite tables and brilliant orange panton chairs while the fourth wall houses the bar that is fronted with turquoise mosaics and silver bar stools and next to which there is the “Art Wall”, a space dedicated to art that will change on a regular basis, for the opening on view will be Damien Hirst’s work ‘Valium’.
With the staff dressed in Marc by Marc Jacobs the concept is to create a fun and lighthearted environment that captures a spirit that is easy, bright and amusing with a cool edge. The playful spot that you pop into before you go out, when you want to go out or after you go out.
Smart, sexy and vibrant with no attitude, no commitment and a fresh agenda.
